Phew! Up at 5.30 to dress the turkey, more chopping, lots of cooking, and dinner was finally plated up at 2.15. A few collywobbles about timing, but by all accounts, a culinary success.

With club runs taking a holiday I was hoping to burn some of this off with a solo run in the evening, but once I’d fallen into the armchair, I knew there was no chance of that happening. Not to worry: Sean is planning a run on Thursday and Grace has one in mind for tomorrow afternoon, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to get some miles under my belt.
In the meantime, I’m looking forward to reading these, a few of my Christmas presents from Fiona.

And I’m sure the girls won’t mind me using one of their pressies now and again. I think I might be needing it!

Three great books – I’ve read the Murakami three times, including a re-read the day before my first marathon, Born to Run is excellent and very warm, and the other one is on my TBR. Are you in the Runners’ Bookshelf Facebook group? And happy Christmas! I got a cold on Christmas Eve night so missed volunteering at parkrun yesterday and running today but hopefully will get over it quickly. Have good runs with Sean and Grace.

Just seen this comment. Sorry to hear you went down with a cold on Christmas Eve. What bad timing? I hope you’re making a full recovery!

It was pretty rubbish and really lingered, which is odd for me – I’m still coughing now but managed to do parkrun yesterday.
